Welcome to R & B Music Tuition, where we hope you find a new passion.
We conduct lessons during the day at several schools: Ahutoetoe School, Kingsway School, Kingsway College, Nukumea School, Red Beach School, Silverdale School and Waitoki School. And in the afternoons teach at our studio based in Orewa.

TONY
Guitar/Bass Tutor
Hi, my name is Tony Abbott. I’ve been teaching guitar for 20 years both privately and within the school system and a practicing musician for many years longer than that. My approach to teaching is based on the lessons that I have learnt over years of performing and playing music. I teach all styles of music and the lessons are designed to fit the needs and abilities of each individual student from beginner to advanced.

Piano/Keyboard & Violin Tutor
I first joined R&B Music in 2015 as a piano tutor, later on adding violin tuition.
With a Bachelor of Music Education from Auckland University and Grade 8 in Piano and Violin from ABRSM.
I have a great passion for music and aims to provide efficiency and enjoyment to my
lessons. When not teaching, I am also an avid photographer with an interest in astro-photography.

Piano/Keyboard Tutor
Hi! My name is Pei, I’m one of the piano/keyboard tutors at R&B Music Tuition. My musical journey started at 6, when I asked my parents for keyboard lessons, and completed the final graded exam for piano when I was 13. Over a decade later, my journey continues, with learning other instruments from different cultures, including Gamelan(gendèr), Koto, etc. To this day I am still learning and discovering new styles and aspects of music. My lessons are pupil-centred, where I do my best to provide what each pupil needs to reach their goals in their own musical journey.

Hi I’m Ari. I live in Red beach and have been playing guitar since I was about 9 years old. I play a lot of different instruments but usually only teach guitar. I started at R&B with Tony way back and I’ve loved it ever since.
I love teaching because it’s super awesome to see someone from the start grow and get better at the guitar and them being really happy to learn a new song or chord.

Hi, I'm Vincent. Ever since I received my very first Guitar almost 20 years ago, music has been a massive part of my life. Fast forward today, teaching has become an extension of my passion.
I usually like to teach in the context of songs, what those songs are, is in large part down to the music you personally like. My aim is for music to become a part of your life too, so that you continue to enjoy playing, long after you take lessons.
